Abstract The increasing integration of renewable energy sources introduces low inertia, generation uncertainty and rapidly varying disturbances, making conventional load frequency control increasingly challenging. This paper proposes a direct policy-based secondary frequency controller using proximal policy optimization for a renewable-integrated power system.
