VerifiedDaliah Singer’s Biography
I am a writer, editor, and Livingston Award for Young Journalists finalist living in Denver. My wide range of passions have inspired diverse stories on everything from travel and the outdoors to social issues and culture. Since discovering an appetite for exploring during four months studying abroad in Perth, Australia, I've visited five continents and more than a dozen countries. I currently work as a senior editor at 5280, where I edit, write, and concept service packages; contribute to all sections of the magazine, with a focus on departments and narrative features; and write regularly for 5280.com (including multimedia). For the past two years, I have also served as editor of 5280 Traveler, an annual ancillary.
I am a 2015 Livingston Award for Young Journalists finalist for "The Girls Next Door" (April 2014), an exposé on the sex trafficking of minors in Colorado. The longform piece was highlighted in the Journalism Center on Children & Families' "Best Practices" series as part of a resources portal for other journalists covering the issue.
"Everyday Environmentalists" (December 2014), which I edited, won the 2015 CRMA award for Reader Service.
