More illegals enter U.S. under parole than legal immigrants are issued green cards
OPINION: Some 8,447 pounds of fentanyl seized at the border this fiscal year — enough poison to kill 2 billion people. And 15,000 aliens with criminal convictions or outstanding warrants — including 195 gang members — were arrested after illegally crossing our border. Violent crime and chaos are sweeping our communities, shown horrifically by the killing of Laken Riley. The person charged with murder in her slaying is a criminal illegal alien.

BISHOP: Saying NO to reckless spending
Last Friday, the House voted on Democrats’ reckless spending bill, which contains billions of dollars for radical Leftist priorities. This bill will give Democrats one last “must-pass” bill on their way out the door. While the press and politicians here in the Swamp have dubbed this bill a “clean” CR, it is anything but clean. This bill gives an additional $12.3 billion directly to Ukraine while adding approximately another $4 billion in transfer authority.

We were promised unity. We got Becerra instead
© Provided by Washington Examiner As our nation continues battling the worst pandemic of our generation, Americans expected the new administration to nominate a qualified candidate to lead the Department of Health and Human Services: a leader equipped both to expedite vaccine distribution and help defeat COVID-19 while earning broad bipartisan support at the same time. This was a reasonable expectation, given then-candidate Joe Biden’s campaign promise to be a centrist, unifying leader.
Congressman Dan Bishop | Reopen NC, all businesses are essential
Last month, North Carolinians were ordered to stay home to help slow the spread of coronavirus. Families and businesses have drastically changed their habits to do their part. This has come at great cost. Businesses have been deemed non-essential and forced to close. Arbitrarily designated ‘essential’ businesses remained open, allowing employees to keep working, but they too are hurting because we rely on everyone, every customer, every person, and every worker in our community.

Rep. Dan Bishop: Time for NC to get back to work
By Rep. Dan Bishop Tuesday Apr 21, 2020 at 1:35 PM This virus will be part of our daily lives for 12 to 18 months until we have a vaccine, and during that time, we need a ‘new normal’ that doesn’t destroy our economy and tear at the fabric of our society. Last month, North Carolinians were ordered to stay home to help slow the spread of coronavirus. Families and businesses have drastically changed their habits to do their part. This has come at great cost.

Team Maps the Human Epigenome
In the 12 years since the Human Genome Project was completed, biologists have linked more than a thousand regions of the genome to disease. “But in most cases, we don’t actually know how they function,” says Manolis Kellis, a computational biologist at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Enter the epigenome. If the human genome is the book of life, the epigenome is the collection of bookmarks and highlighting that tells the cell what passages of the book to read.
Genetic Battle of the Sexes
When David Haig finished college in Australia with a degree in biology, he found a job in a New South Wales government office rubber-stamping documents to record mortgage tax payments and property transfers. His tour in the bureaucracy lasted two years. “I decided there was more to life than rubber stamps,” he says, reminiscing in his office at Harvard University’s Botanical Museum. Haig returned to his biology studies at Macquarie University in Sydney, earning his doctorate in 1989.
