On 12 January 2026, the UK Government launched its consultation on the design of the revenue certainty mechanism (“RCM”) to support UK production of sustainable aviation fuel (“SAF”). The RCM is intended to complement the UK’s SAF Mandate, which requires aviation fuel suppliers in the UK to gradually ramp-up supplies of eligible SAF. The Government is inviting responses to its consultation on the key commercial terms for the RCM and the proposed allocation approach for contract awards.
