The New South Wales Court of Appeal recently handed down a judgment that considered whether time runs from the date of damage to property insured, or alternatively the date of declinature, under an Industrial Special Risks Insurance Policy (ISR Policy). In summary, the Court of Appeal held that time runs from the date of damage to the property insured, which in this case meant that the insured's claim was statute barred.
RIDGEWAY — An explosion woke the neighborhood on East Hale Street in Ridgeway on Monday night. At about 10 p.m., said Ridgeway Fire Chief Jim Newland, the blast awakened the family of Jason Parker at 279 E. Hale, along with his neighbors. Ridgeway residents beat on doors and help spread the word of the fire, said Newland. Neighbors told the Times they saw a fireball when the fire started and explosions continued to be a concern as the firefighters arrived on the scene.
KENTON — A suspect is in custody in connection with the four arson fires which were set early Saturday morning in the southwest section of Kenton. Kenton Police Chief Dennis Musser identified the suspect as Dustin Cannode, 30, of Kenton. Cannode was picked up Wednesday afternoon on a probation violation for an earlier drug offense, said the chief. Additional charges are pending.
