Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother wasn’t supposed to exist. Not long ago, the new film’s director, Houston-raised University of Texas at Austin alumni Bassam Tariq, was supposed to be helming Marvel’s reboot of the superhero horror movie Blade, slated to star two-time Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali as the titular, sword-wielding vampire hunter.

If you watched sports on television this weekend—regardless of where in the country you may live—you probably saw ads touting Ken Paxton, the man fighting to maintain the GOP’s generations-long grip on statewide elections in Texas as he’s locked in a tight race against Democrat James Talarico.

The most notable thing about the grossly hateful new film Run Hide Fight: Infidels is that Jonathan Majors is in it. Recall that not that long ago, the North Texas–raised actor was on a hot streak, starring in Marvel movies and Oscar-bait features. In 2023, he coled Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Creed III, seemingly the beginning of another big year—until he was accused of domestic violence, abruptly pausing his career. Pausing, but not ending, for the Daily Wire came calling.
