Have you ever used a typewriter?
I used my great uncle's typewriter once, but not for a story.
How is social media changing news?
It makes the lede shorter and sweeter than it's ever been. Also, it lets consumers directly ask questions/yell at reporters.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
Perd Hapley from "Parks And Recreation." However, I do not try to emulate him.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
I use Google Drive for stories and Adobe InDesign for layout creation.

Reddit.
Why did you become a journalist?
Ever since I was little, I remember reading newspapers. I loved reporting for years and I'm going to love doing it for years to come.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
I was the Opinions Editor for the John Hersey High School Correspondent. I wrote a column and covered a few newsworthy events.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Learn how to write in AP style as quickly as possible as to not annoy your editors.
When's the best time to pitch you?
Any time. I'm always open to a story idea.
