Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
Stephen Glass.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Battered Apple laptop and iPhone. Do a lot of work on that little screen.
Why did you become a journalist?
Except for that briefish moment when I was a chef, I never thought of doing anything else.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
Yes - I was a reporter. Also yearbook copy editor.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Be curious or competitive (or both!) and maintain a great work ethic. You'll be unstoppable.
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
The New York Times
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
That entertainment reporting somehow leads to a job as a film critic.
