I was born in Mutare, Zimbabwe, and spent much of my life on the road, first driving across Africa in a van with my family and later on, as an adult, working with grassroots NGOs in various locales worldwide. From assisting projects on rural livelihoods Kenya, to covering refugee issues as a communications officer in Bangkok and teaching human rights in refugee camps, I now write humanitarian/ human rights/ and human interest pieces in Asia Pacific and Latin America.
