July 6, 2026, 1:52 p.m. MT Josh Bartelstein, CEO of the Phoenix Suns and Mercury franches, has been given a contract extension. ESPN's Sham Charania reported on Monday, July 6, that Mat Ishbia, owner of the franchises, confirmed the extension to ESPN. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Charania also reported that Suns' second-year player Koby Brea is signing a two-way NBA contract to return to the team, which his agent confirmed to ESPN.

The Phoenix Suns will be in West Group A with the Denver Nuggets, Houston Rockets, Utah Jazz and Dallas Mavericks. There are five total groups among the 30 teams, drawn randomly within their conferences based on win-loss records from the 2025-26 regular season. The Suns finished 45-37 and seventh in the Western Conference.
