MADRID (ICIS)--A potential regulatory change in the notice period permitted for LNG cargo deliveries into Spain to be cancelled may affect speculative trading by market participants, said a source, following a probe by the Spanish market regulator. The Spanish National Commission for Markets and Competition (CNMC) launched an investigation in early July into alleged non-compliance by various companies around the flexibility rules that apply to LNG unloading at the country’s terminals.

MADRID (ICIS)--Norwegian producer Equinor could resume talks with the government of Tanzania about the country’s LNG export project. Equinor announced in January it was halting the development of the project because it was not competitive within its portfolio. Tanzania LNG’s (TLNG) predicted break-even level was well above Equinor’s portfolio average of $35/bbl for projects with expected start-up by 2026.

MADRID (ICIS)--Phase one of the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim LNG project off Senegal and Mauritania in west Africa could be around 80% complete by the end of this year, while the financial investment decision (FID) on phase two is expected in late-2022, project partner Kosmos Energy said in its first quarter results call on 10 May.
