Efficacies of three anti- Salmonella additives - bacteriophage, formaldehyde, and formic acid - within the animal food microbiota
Abstract Bacteriophage, formaldehyde, and formic acid are anti-Salmonella additives used in animal food but their effects on its microbiota are largely unknown. We applied 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing and shotgun metagenomics to measure animal food microbiota shifts following treatment with three commercial products: SalmoLyse (bacteriophage) in dry dog food, and Termin-8 (formaldehyde) and Amasil NA (formic acid) in poultry feed.

Effect of inter- and intra-row spacing on yield and yield components of mung bean (Vigna radiata L.) under rain-fed condition at Metema District, northwestern Ethiopia | Agriculture & Food Security | Full Text
Mung bean (Vigna radiata L.) is one of the most important pulse crops, grown from tropical to subtropical areas around the world [1]. It is an important wide-spreading, herbaceous and annual legume pulse crop cultivated mostly by traditional farmers [2]. At present, mung bean cultivation spreads widely in Africa, South America, Australia and in many Asian countries [3]. The world annual production area of mung bean is about 5.5 million hectare with a increase in rate of 2.5% per annum [4].
