5 Steps To Prepare
As a foundational matter, carefully consider whether raising venture capital is appropriate for your goals and the needs of your business. If you do decide that raising venture financing is appropriate, determine how much capital you want to raise. With this, research your prospective investors. Not every venture investor will invest in every industry or stage of development. Having a targeted list of appropriate prospective investors will save you a great deal of time.
Preparing for Investment - Are Your Corporate Documents Organized? - Morse
Preparing for a venture capital financing or an acquisition? Make sure your corporate records are ready for prime time. You will not be able to close a financing or sell your company if your corporate records are in disarray. When the time comes to raise money or get acquired, the investor or acquirer is going to want to review your company’s key documents. Disorganized or incomplete records will slow down the deal, impact its terms or even derail it.

3 Considerations
A corporate venture capital (CVC) investment presents companies and investors with growth opportunities that can be realized through careful planning of the commercial arrangement, partnering, and the investment terms. Aside from capital, an investment from a CVC firm will frequently include a commercial agreement ranging from a proof of concept to a manufacturing or distribution agreement.
