I cover Seattle culture, business and transportation for SeattlePI.com. We are an online news organization (formerly a print paper, until 2009) covering the greater Seattle area.

Before I tromped into the world of journalism, I was a steel carpenter and drywall contractor, and, before that, an electric motor technician.

In whatever spare time I can muster, I play music, read Hemingway, Steinbeck and Kerouac (only the early stuff, before he got too crazy), among others, and eat delicious food.
