Dogs and cats may present with both dermatological and gastrointestinal manifestations, although non-seasonal pruritus is the most com-mon clinical sign. Despite advances in understanding the immunopathogenesis of this condition, the elimination–provocation trial remains the gold standard for diagnosis.
