Type 1 Diabetes/Hidradenitis Suppurativa Comorbidity-A Population-Based Study

2. Materials and Methods This population-based study was conducted to estimate the likelihood of incident HS developing in patients with T1D. As HS is considered a relatively rare disease (<10% of population), a nested case-control design was chosen in order to detect enough cases (outcome). With this design, the odds ratio (OR) is a good approximation of the hazard ratio (HR) [18].
