One person dead after shooting on Boykin Road in Augusta

AUGUSTA, GA (WJBF) – The Richmond County Coroner’s Office says a man is dead after a shooting on Boykin Road in Augusta. The Coroner’s Office says the shooting happened just before midnight on Christmas Eve on the 2300 Block of Boykin Road. The victim who was shot at least once was transported to Wellstar MCG where he was pronounced dead. The Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as 36 year old Steven Luke. An autopsy has been scheduled. No suspect has been identified at this time.

Suspect wanted after deadly shooting in Aiken

AIKEN, SC (WJBF) – The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that left one person dead. Investigators say on Sunday, December 24th just after 11 am, deputies responded to a call of shots fired on the 100 block of Squire Street. Investigators say when they arrived on scene, they found an unresponsive black male in the front yard with a gunshot wound to the chest. Deputies performed first aid until Aiken EMS arrived at which time he was pronounced dead.

18-wheeler goes over Augusta Canal Bridge

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is responding to a single vehicle traffic accident involving an eighteen wheeler that went over the canal bridge. The crash happened on I-20 Eastbound at the Augusta Canal Bridge overpass. The driver is reported to have minor injuries. There is possible structural damage to the bridge and the Georgia Department of Transportation is currently on the way to the scene. I-20 Eastbound traffic is being diverted to Riverwatch Pkwy.
