What was your first job as a journalist?
Working as a fixer for the BBC during the Greek financial crisis.

I have used a typewriter once.

What does it mean to be a journalist?
It means being inquisitive, gathering and verifying information, fact-checking and putting reliable information and expertise out there.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Email.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Internet and social media. Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Premiere, Word, Google Spreadsheets, GoogleDocs. WhatsApp, Signal, Slack, Viber, Skype.

Why did you become a journalist?
Seems because I was always asking why since a very young age. I like asking questions, listening to people's stories and observing.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
I worked at my elementary school newspaper which was circulated between 6th grade. I researched photos and interviewed contributors.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
The untold story of Europe's drowned migrants.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Multi-skills...

Depending on the story and urgency - but generally anytime.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
I can't remember the worst pitch I ever got.

Coffee.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
In the field reporting and taking photos.
