Background: Different strategies to prevent peritoneal metastases from colorectal cancer (CRC-PM) have been tested in prospective trials with controversial results. However, risk factors for CRC-PM are still poorly understood. We sought to better define the risk associated with T4 stage CRC.
Recurrence of pseudomyxoma peritonei after cytoreductive surgery and HIPEC: the role of repeat surgery
Background: The management of pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP) patients relapsing after cytoreductive surgery and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (CRS/HIPEC) is not standardized. In particular, the role of repeat HIPEC is still undetermined. In our center, suitable patients with PMP relapse are treated by repeat CRS alone.
