EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) - It was nice to feel what “average” is here in the late part of July, and that’s exactly what we had out there on Tuesday. Most places topped out in the low to mid 80s, and with dew points hovering near 60, humidity was the lowest it’s been since last week. A high pressure system to our north has kept us in light north and northeast flow, but that will begin to shift around over the next 24 hours. The weather remains quiet tonight and likely the next couple of days.

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) - We got through the worst of the heat and humidity with the current hot weather pattern, with more triple digit heat indexes earlier on Monday. The passage of a weak boundary has shifted wind flow mostly to the north, dropping temperatures and dew points into early tonight. The overnight will feel nicer with better sleeping weather, as temperatures will be dropping down through the 60s with lower dew points.

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) - Widespread triple digit heat indexes have produced some dangerous conditions this afternoon and evening, with oppressive dew points in the 70s. Eau Claire recorded its 6th 90 degree day of the month, and we look to see another one Monday, before temperatures begin to cool down just a bit. The other short-term weather story is the potential severe weather into tonight.
