Darryl Mitteldorf’s Biography
Darryl Mitteldorf, LCSW is an oncology social worker, who initiated the field of lgbt psycho-onoclogy in 1997. He is the founder of several cancer survivor support and advocacy organizations, such as the national men's cancer survivor nonprofit, Malecare (1998), The National LGBT Cancer Project (2005) and the Global Prostate Cancer Alliance (2012). He is also the founder of the cancer research crowd funding platform, Start A Cure (2013). Mr. Mitteldorf has spoken and presented papers regarding men's cancers, prostate cancer and LGBT cancer survivorship at many national and international conferences. As a journalist, Mr. Mitteldorf writes for various blogs and journals about cancer survivorship.
