This year's sailboat race to Mackinac Island started with rain and light wind The 116th running of the Chicago to Mackinac Island race has been slow to finish. Light winds hampered boats large and small making the 333-nautical mile course from Chicago to Mackinac Island. Among the first to finish: "Whitehawk" coming in Sunday and "Heartbreaker" very early Monday morning.
