MIDWEEK WEATHER ALERT Following the rainy afternoon across the interior, a few lingering showers and thunderstorms will be possible overnight in these same areas. The Greater Boston Metro area will see a gloomy and humid night, yet rain chances really don't pick up until after sunrise tomorrow. Tomorrow's late morning commute might be a bit messy with showers and thunderstorms causing some problems on the roads, especially for areas south of the Mass Pike.

PROBLEM SPOTS TUESDAY Most of the day will be humid, mild, and mostly cloudy in Boston and Worcester. There could be an isolated downpour or thunderstorm midday or afternoon, but the much better chance for rain will stretch from CT to western MA and southern VT/NH. These areas north and west of Boston are expecting heavy rain at times, and a Flood Watch will be in effected in parts of western New England.

CHANGES TUESDAY Clouds and higher humidity return today. After a dry morning, expect scattered thunderstorms and downpours this afternoon and evening. Storms will be capable of producing torrential rain, lightning, and wind damage. We have a low risk for an isolated storm in southern New England. The most active weather will arrive in Boston after 5 PM and may not peak until 8 PM - midnight. That timeline may waiver slightly but does look fairly late in the day.
