1 Introduction Concurrent common bile duct (CBD) stones are identified in approximately 10%–15% of patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy for symptomatic gallstone disease [1-3]. Laparoscopic common bile duct exploration (LCBDE) is an established single-stage treatment for choledocholithiasis, achieving high duct clearance rates with low morbidity [4, 5].

This obituary was originally published on Dec. 6, 1975. It is being republished for a package for Women’s History Month. Hannah Arendt, the political philosopher who escaped Hitler’s Germany and later scrutinized its morality in “Eichmann in Jerusalem” and other books, died Thursday night in her apartment at 370 Riverside Drive. She was 69 years old. Dr. Arendt collapsed, apparently of a heart attack, while entertaining friends. A physician who was called pronounced her dead.

Deep learning MRI-only synthetic-CT generation for pelvis, brain and head and neck cancers
MRI-only planning relies on dosimetrically accurate synthetic-CT (sCT) generation to allow dose calculation. Here we validated the dosimetric accuracy of sCTs generated using a deep learning algorithm for pelvic, brain and head and neck (H&N) cancer sites using variable MRI data from multiple scanners. sCT generation models were trained using a cycle-GAN algorithm, using paired MRI-CT patient data.

Because Parks Canada wants to spend almost $6 million of valuable taxpayers’ money to hire a private company to try to use sharpshooters in helicopters and dogs to wipe out every deer on the island in December.

Comprehensive histological investigation of these feeding sites is complicated by their variable shape and their positions deep within root tissue. Using tissue clearing and confocal microscopy, we examined thick (up to 150 μm) sections of wheat roots infected by cereal cyst nematodes (Heterodera avenae).
