ANNOUNCEMENT: Boyd announces candidacy in U.S. Representative race
I’m David Boyd, and I’m running for Congress to represent the 11 counties that make up Indiana’s 6th District. The three priorities of my campaign are to strengthen bipartisanship, strengthen democracy, and strengthen America. I’m in this race because I believe strength is needed in Washington, D.C. to solve the complex issues facing Hoosiers, and to defeat millionaire Republican Jefferson Shreve in the general election.

Can cold weather cause loud booms (frost quakes)?
Occasionally, we get reports of few loud booms around region after a cold snap, especially at night or early morning. It is often highly localized and sometimes produces some shaking. It could be a frost quake (also known as ice quakes). Frost quakes, or cryoseisms, are nothing new. In fact, they've been observed/studied since the 1800s. As temperatures drop, the ground water freezes.
Polar Plunge for Christmas Weekend 2022
A rush of arctic air will invade the Tri-Cities region early Friday morning before sunrise. Rain showers will change to snow showers before daybreak. A quick, but light accumulation is possible (more details on the weather page here). Expanding the Hound: Introducing Plaintext Field to Compromised Accounts
Introduction When doing an Internal Penetration Test, it is not uncommon to run BloodHound at one point or another. In case you are not familiar with BloodHound, it’s a tool that automatically fires off a bunch of LDAP queries and Windows API calls to collect various data in an Active Directory environment. Data can range from domain users to domain groups and even users who have dangerously configured rights on other objects.
Think winters have been less snowy? You are right, and by a lot
To keep up with new data, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) updates the United State’s climate normals every 10 years. Climatological averages are usually examined over a 30 year timespan. Our previous set of data covered from 1981-2010, while the latest set runs from 1991-2020.
Weather Why: Precipitation Probabilities
Forecasts contain lots of information to help you plan your day. From temperature to humidity, a seven day forecast provides tons of important data. Though this extended forecast is meant to be easily understood, there is one aspect that can be a little confusing - the chance of rain. One way to think about it is the probability of precipitation. The best way to describe it is a combination of how confident we are in the forecast with how much of the area is expected to get rain.

Think it is raining more and snowing less? You are right.
Every 10 years, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) updates the United States' climate normals to keep up with new data. When we look at climatological averages, we examine the weather over a long period of time (typically 30 years). In the previous data set we were using for, our averages spanned from 1981-2010. Our new averages will be based on data from 1991-2020 to accommodate the new decade. How does this change things?
