Having recently reached the 2,000-flight-hour milestone with the type and with all the 18 ordered aircraft now delivered, the Italian Air Force shared some interesting insights into its experience with the M-345 jet trainer during a media briefing held at the Farnborough International Airshow on July 22, 2026.

Leonardo Secures Indonesian M-346F Deal, Advances AW149 Talks and Eyes Ukrainian Drone Cooperation

Leonardo will provide Indonesia with 12 M-346F Block 20 light fighter aircraft and negotiate a contract for AW149 helicopter, while looking at a potential cooperation with the Ukrainian drone industry. Leonardo and PT ESystem Solutions announced on July 21, 2026, two new aircraft procurements for the Indonesian Ministry of Defense (MoD). These will see two of Leonardo’s current flagship programs, the M-346F Block 20 and the AW149, join the diverse aircraft fleet of the Indonesian military.

Lakenheath F-15Es Return From Middle East Combat Deployment With Striking Nose Art

Eleven 48th Fighter Wing Strike Eagles have returned home from the Iran air war sporting interesting nose art and bomb markings. On Jul. 1, 2026, eleven F-15E Strike Eagles belonging to the 48th Fighter Wing returned home from their latest combat tour in the Middle East. Although some aircraft carried 494th FS markings, according to our sources all the aircrews were from the 492nd Fighter Squadron “Madhatters” (or “Bolars” from the squadron’s callsign).
