I've been a broadcast journalist for CNN, CNN Newsource, and the late great CNN Headline News for more than 35 years. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, and graduated from Boston University's College of Communication with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. In my non-existent spare time, I've run marathons and taught at USC's Annenberg School of Communication and Journalism. I love trivia and movies, and I'm addicted to the printed word. I commute via Metro (in non-pandemic/WFH times) and tweeted as @CNNLADavid during the good old days. I have interviewed Oscar, Emmy, Tony and Grammy winners, and I've copy-edited the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
