The Competitive Advantage Of Being Human
David Farbman, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Healthrise, a healthcare consulting and technology firm. I’ve spent as much of my life hunting in the woods as I have sitting in boardrooms. One of the most valuable lessons I learned from the field is that you can watch everything and still notice nothing. Even the best-equipped hunter can miss the subtle signals—a change in the wind, a flicker of motion just beyond the line of sight—that matter most.

拙著『The Hunt: Target, Track and Attain Your Goals』の中で、私はこの規律を「流動的実行(fluid...
The Competitive Advantage In The Age Of AI: Knowing When To Change Direction
David Farbman, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Healthrise, a healthcare consulting and technology firm. AI is the most exciting and most unsettling force I’ve encountered in a career of building companies. In my view, any leader treating it as an optional luxury risks their business not being around in the next decade. A software project that required nine months of traditional development two years ago now takes two weeks.
Automation with integrity: The real work behind healthcare’s digital transformation
HFMA’s Healthcare C-suite of the Future report captures precisely where healthcare leadership must go, and it’s a direction we at Healthrise have been deeply invested in for years. The industry’s challenges are real: unsustainable costs, workforce strain and mounting pressures on ROI. Yet the transformation underway is also an extraordinary opportunity if leaders can align data integrity, automation and trust in the right sequence.
Investing in Jewish educators: The paradigm shift needed to achieve excellence
In their recent article in eJewishPhilanthropy calling out the need for the Jewish nonprofit sector to invest more strategically and consistently in their professionals (“A talent investment mindset: The next frontier for Jewish communal innovation,” March 7), Joshua Margolis and Gali Cooks share a simple truth: “On a team, people know when they’re being treated like a cost — and they often respond with lower commitment, less initiative, and even growing resentment.
Take Your Shot
I’m a hunter. As a lifelong outdoorsman, I mean that literally. Many of the best and most rewarding times of my life have been spent outdoors, in pursuit of an elusive trophy or an indelible memory. But my hunting mindset doesn’t end when I return from a week in the mountains. It drives me in my personal and professional life, as well. It has influenced the way I’ve approached career opportunities in commercial real estate, online media and now healthcare.
Our Spectrum
I have twin 14-year-old sons, Sam and Jack. Jack’s development is typical; Sam’s development began to shift when he was 18 months old. At the time, all the telltale signs were there but we weren’t sure how to read them: Was Sam a late bloomer? Did he need extra time to catch up to his brother? Moms Reflect on Their Proudest Parenting Moments
When you’re in day-to-day parenting mode—the cereal ground into the carpet, the car exploding with sports equipment, the backpack that you haven’t rifled through since April—it’s tough to step back and appreciate your work. But it’s almost Mother’s Day, and you deserve to revel a bit. In that spirit, we asked moms to share their proudest moments. “I was at my son’s kindergarten parent-teacher conference.
Learning how to recover from mistakes is valuable tool
I have made my fair share of mistakes on my hunt for success. We all make mistakes, every last one of us. I’d bet some of you keep track of every mistake, a running tally that follows you into every endeavor. Mistakes are hard to let go – they cling like burrs. But even the most successful hunter wanders off course and into a bramble now and then. Like burrs, mistakes can be pulled off and tossed away, leaving behind only a reminder not to walk that way again.
