Washington state law and court rules provide a strong public policy favoring open courts and accessible proceedings. Consistent with that mandate, the Whatcom County Superior Court remains committed to these principles and to compliance with the Courts Open to All Act (RCW 2.28.300–330) and GR 38. Beginning in January 2025, the Court has made federal immigration enforcement in and around the courthouse a regular topic of discussion at semi-monthly judicial officer meetings.
