David Goldstein’s Biography

For 20 years, David Goldstein wrote a newspaper column published weekly in the Ventura County Star, in other local newspapers, and regularly on MSN and Yahoo!News. He now writes the column monthly, focusing instead on his main job, which is managing the Ventura County Recycling Market Development Zone. Through the RMDZ, he has provided over $35 million in low-interest loans and other incentives to companies making products from discarded materials. He also writes reports, grant applications, and technical documents. He has authored one published book, a biography of his father, titled, "Rabbi Jerry Goldstein's Ethical Will."

David is chairman of the California Mattress Recycling Council Advisory Committee, treasurer of the California Association of Recycling Market Development Zones, and he was previously on the board of directors of Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County. With Habitat, he led initiatives that started two ReStores, selling used and surplus home improvement items and materials. David has a master’s degree in public administration from California State University, Northridge, and is a Lean Six Sigma process improvement Green Belt.
