David Lanzafame
David Lanzafame’s Biography
Even before I studied for my Master's in Journalism, I had already had several years experience under my belt with small print newspapers, covering local events.
After receiving my Master's from Columbia College, I went on expand my skillset by freelance for numerous online publications, including ghostwriting for a startup company. Eventually, I held full time positions as a staff writer and editor for news reporting companies like Shaw Media, before I moved on to writing and editing for the B2B magazine, Cleaning and Maintenance Management. Even then I was still freelancing for the hyper-local online publication Third Coast Review, and writing entertainment pieces for Screen Rant.
I would call myself a "utility man," when it comes to my skillset. I see a need and I fill a need for a given publication. Whether it's quickly editing a colleague's piece, covering a breaking story, or giving that one last pass before a magazine is sent to print.
Practically, I'm well versed in Chicago Manual of Style and AP Style. I enjoy research and news gathering almost as much as I enjoy writing and editing. And I like to show the enthusiasm through my copy.
