Paradise and Lahaina have so much in common — towns decimated by wildfire, trying to bounce back, lifted by the unifying power of high school football — that it only makes sense to bring the communities together. There’s one large complication with that ambition. The towns are separated by an ocean and 2,500 miles. Paradise, however, is accustomed to knocking down obstacles. Paradise High School figures it needs to raise about $72,000 to fly to Maui for the first Lahaina-Paradise Unity Bowl.
