When Intel Expected Amazing AI Experiences Ten years ago Intel was getting into AI in a major way. In August 2016 Intel was reported to be paying over $350 million for a two-year-old 48-person start-up called Nervana, which is involved in deep learning and AI (artificial intelligence). Nervana had raised $25 million in venture capital and has a contract with the US intelligence community’s venture arm In-Q-tel. Its CEO is a former Qualcomm neural net researcher, Naveen Rao.

Vishay adds to ILHB chip ferrite beads

Vishay Intertechnology has expanded of  ILHB series of Automotive Grade multilayer chip ferrite beads for high current filtering. The Vishay Dale devices now offer higher current capability, smaller case sizes, and a wider range of impedance values to meet a broader set of EMC noise reduction requirements. The ILHB series is now available in 0402, 0603, 0805, 1008, and 1206 case sizes with current handling up to 6 A and impedance values from 10 Ω to 2700 Ω.

NextSilicon to productise Arbel core into a CPU for launch in Q12028

NextSilicon designed Arbel from the ground up for the performance demands of AI infrastructure and HPC. The move from test chip to production roadmap follows customer and partner silicon evaluations, including HPC program leads, AI infrastructure architects, and data center operators. Their input has validated Arbel’s key performance attributes and is shaping the requirements and architecture decisions for the 64-core production processor.
