6 things to know about the worst places to park in LA

If you park at eastbound Wilshire Boulevard and Irolo Street in Koreatown, your odds of getting a ticket are higher than anywhere else in Los Angeles. So far this year, parking enforcement officers have issued 2,595 citations there — more than any other location in the city — generating more than $760,000 in fines. Through June 12, the city had issued nearly 800,000 parking citations overall — about 7% fewer than at the same point last year.

Free summer concert series kicks off Saturday night in MacArthur Park

MacArthur Park will be home to “¡Canta y no Llores LA!” on Saturday night, the first in a series of free concerts in the park’s bandshell. The concert series has seen varied turnout, from a few hundred to 5,000 people. The goal of the night is to get people out of the house and enjoy the park, said Allegra Padilla, the executive director of Music Arts Community LA, the concert series’ organizer. “Events like this give people a sense of joy,” Padilla told The LA Local.
