School of Medicine, Trinity College Dublin’s Post
School of Medicine, Trinity College Dublin’s Post There was an interesting letter in the Lancet this week from two research fellows attached to School of Medicine, Trinity College Dublin. The letter calls for the climate crisis to be declared a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC), warning that its effects on health are unfolding now and demand an urgent, coordinated international response.
Newcastle United owners are in it for the long haul Original
With the summer transfer window closed and NUFC looking, feeling and acting like a new club since the end of the 25/26 season, I wanted to explore the suggestion made by some fans and elements of the media that the Newcastle United owners might be preparing to sell up. As sovereign wealth funds operate behind tight communications filters, definitive commentary from inside the Public Investment Fund (PIF) is rare.
The Matfen Blueprint Original
It seems that meetings between the Newcastle United owners and senior staff at Matfen Hall at the end of April signed off a new, markedly different operating model for NUFC: On-field: An aggressive, player trading plan led by Sporting Director Ross Wilson. Off-field: CEO David Hopkinson and an expanded commercial team focused on increasing total revenues towards £600m to address wage disparity. On-Field Ross Wilson officially took the reins on October 11th, 2025.

by David Rutherford and Nicolas Hulscher, Global Research: I recently joined Navy SEAL and CIA contractor David Rutherford for an explosive interview that breaks down what really happened—from early pandemic planning and military mRNA development to the latest scientific evidence documenting widespread harm. This conversation pulls together years of research, real-world data, and firsthand analysis into one comprehensive account of a pre-planned global public health catastrophe.

Newcastle United competing for everything by 2030 says NUFC CEO and is this realistic?
I have tried to set out an objective view of where Newcastle United are and can be, within the 2030 timeframe that David Hopkinson has set out following his strategic review of the club. The End of the Beginning Having completed a 100-day review, David Hopkinson set out his vision for the club as “consistently contending for the top prizes in global football by 2030”. His position – which he followed up at a recent FT event – has sparked debate and commentary.

In RSM Production Corporation v Gaz du Cameroun SA [2023] EWHC 2820 (Comm), the English High Court considered the relationship between arbitration clauses in a production sharing contract (or participation agreement), joint operating agreement and settlement agreement (straddling both). The outcome illustrates the benefit of giving careful consideration to the interplay between dispute resolution provisions in drafting interrelated upstream contracts.

What made Tchaikovsky's 'Nutcracker' ballet an American favorite
Members of the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo in a production of Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker." Tchaikovsky created his ballet “The Nutcracker” in 1892, based on French version of E.T.A. Hoffman’s story about a girl’s Christmas adventure into a fantasy land. It’s a perennial holiday favorite but it took a long time to grow into a classic. The United States was the perfect place for that to happen. It went from obscurity to a major hit over 60 years.
The results are in: 2014 Carol Countdown
The results of our 2014 Carol Countdown are in, and there are some surprises. While the top three remained unchanged from last year's poll, a few carols grew in popularity. "Still, Still, Still" finished in The top 10 for the first time since 2009. "In the Bleak Midwinter" surged to No. 7 and "The Wexford Carol" made its strongest showing ever, at No. 14.
