High school, college star returns as next WRHS volleyball coach
A generation after she ex-celled as a star volleyball player at Hailey’s Wood River High School and then in college, Kristyn Price Rutland is returning to Wood River as its next volleyball head coach. Price Rutland, 38, a Bellevue resident, accepted the position as only the sixth Wood River head volleyball coach in 45 sea-sons of Hailey volleyball. She replaces Tim Richards, who resigned in December after 16 years in the head coaching job.
School District business manager to resign
Chatterton came to the district in 1987 after earning his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Idaho State University in 1983. Before coming to the district, he worked as an accountant for the Shoshone-Bannock tribes, then as accountant for the Pocatello School District from March 1985 to November 1987.
| Seahawks | The Seattle Times
One of the underrated keys to Seattle’s 43-8 victory over Denver in the Super Bowl a year ago was its ability to get consistent pressure with just a four-man rush. That’ll be critical again Sunday against New England quarterback Tom Brady, who gets rid of the ball quickly and is hard to bring down. He was sacked just 21 times this season (by comparison, Russell Wilson was sacked 42 times).

Keys to the Seahawks-Chiefs game
The good news is that Russell Wilson has led the Seahawks to three straight wins. The bad news is that Wilson has had passer ratings of 77.5 or below in each game — the longest such stretch of his career — having thrown just one touchdown and three interceptions. Wilson says it’s nothing to worry about, just some issues with his footwork and hurrying throws, and that his confidence has not wavered.
Seahawks vs. Giants: Keys to the game
Last week’s passing-game woes were far from solely the fault of Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson. An injury-riddled offensive line gave him little time, and he was also the victim of a few drops from receivers. Still, Wilson himself admitted he was too often a bit off on his throws as he completed just 17 of 35 passes for 179 yards.
Keys to the Seahawks-Rams game
The trade of Percy Harvin seems to only further enforce that the Seahawks will get back to basics — meaning handing the ball early and often to Marshawn Lynch. He got just 10 carries for 61 yards in Sunday’s 30-23 loss at Dallas, and only two in the first half as the Seahawks tried early to establish a game plan around Harvin. Seattle also ran just 48 plays and failed to convert third downs to sustain drives, making it difficult to get Lynch his usual number of carries.
