Have you ever used a typewriter?
Yup, and it was not fun.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Email is always best.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
I keep it simple, textedit for notes, translation software (Google translate) to help with local languages and pencil and paper when needed.
What's your favorite social network?
I think they are all terrible in unique ways... and also useful in unique ways. I can't say I have a "favorite"
Why did you become a journalist?
Rather by accident. During COVID lockdowns I had time and decided to work on filling the niche on English language coverage of Moldova.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
My initial coverage of Moldova during the outbreak of war in Ukraine. Particularly the refugee crisis in Moldova.
When's the best time to pitch you?
Anytime - just by email.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
Pretty much everything. Moldova has almost no English language press coverage
