Council selling 'beautiful' former Cambridge library to ease budget
A council said it does not have the money to "hold on to beautiful buildings" after a listed property was put back on the market. Cambridgeshire County Council is selling the former Mill Road Library building in Cambridge's city centre. The Grade II site has a £700,000 guide price and could be bought for commercial or community use. The council said it was necessary to sell, as keeping the building "would not be the best use of taxpayer money".
DC Bias point of Spice model in EM Extract (AWR MWO)
Dear all, I have a simulation of an amplifier circuit (PCB) that consists of some lumped parameters and a nonlinear device. As soon as the EM Extract block is enabled the DC bias (DCVS block) voltage does not apply any current and thus the transistor model (SPICE) does not work. How can I fix this problem?
Loadpull Compression point impedance using xdb analysis in Harmonic Balance
Hello everybody, now I am using harmonic balance analysis to determine the optimum load impedance of Power Amplifier, In harmonic balance analysis panel, right click the compression Then after the netlist and run, in the direct plot->main form, can see the xdb options, choosing it and can plot the compression point contour, the result shown below From this plot it's can be seen that when the load impedance Zd=7.44+j4.78, the output compression 1dB Power is 28.2618dBm But when I directly set...
How to evaluate the large-signal stability of power amplifiers?
Hi, everyone, I am a student learning to use Cadence' s suite of tools. I wonder how to evaluate the large-signal stability of power amplifier using Cadence' s design tools. I know that Keysight's ADS software offers a method called WSprobe for assessing the large-signal stability of power amplifiers. But I am also interested in whether Cadence's suite of tools provides a similar functionality or if there are alternative, more effective methods for large-signal stability assessment.
Errors Using Data Files in AWR MWO
Hi Kyle, I am looking into this issue. I did however figure out a workaround so that you can get up and running quickly. You can use the function test_data:PlotCol(1,1) and test_data:PlotCol(1,2) to be able to access the columns in the datafile. With this setup in the output equations, I was able to create the plot you wanted. Let me know if this helps, and I will try to get back to you when I finish investigating the original problem. Note that I had to change your datafile heading.

Gain Amplifier design help
Hi Altruists, I want to design a gain amplifier using AWR microwave office. Can you anybody share any example kind design or any help?
RF Detector
I was just wondering if there is an easy way to simulate a Rf detect IC, more specifically an ADL5902, in AWR, as i want to look at its use in an AGC system.
Simulating Kinetic Inductance in Microwave Office
Hello all, I am working on a project which requires me to simulate superconducting nanowires, whose reactance is dominated by kinetic inductance, in AWR Microwave Office. In order to model this, I would like to create a material which has a certain excess sheet inductance, but I am struggling with how to do this. I know that this is possible because there are several papers who claim to simulate these nanowires with AWR Microwave Office (Ex.: https://arxiv.org/pdf/1602.06895.pdf).

Dynamic voiding in MWO layout
Hello, I am new here so I don't know if this is the correct spot for MWO questions so if not, please let me know where to go. I am having an issue using the dynamic voiding in MWO layout. According to the documentation, setting up dynamic voiding is possible but I can not get it to work. I have tried the steps listed in section 3.14.1 to 3.14.6 here: https://awrcorp.com/download/faq/english/docs/Layout/layout_editing.html.
RF filter using CPW lines with gnd plane
Designed an edge coupled BPF using microstrip lines. The same dimensions have been used for CPW coupled lines CPW2LINA. In the layout view the coplanar gnd plane is invisible. While doing EM analysis using Analyst, getting the same results that of the edge coupled using microstrip lines. Is it correct?
AWR MWO - exporting output equation results to a .mat file
Hello all, I'm using AWR Design Environment 16.03.12629. I am trying to export data from AWR to matlab using the output file option. However when exporting the data calculated in output equation files I'm running into an error. To reproduce the error I set up a new project with a very basic circuit consisting of an ACVS connected to a 1 ohm resistor and set up the following ouput equation file: # I can succesfully plot Yxp in a tabular graph and will see the expected rsults of Itime.
AWR VSS - Discrepancy between Time Domain Simulator & Budget Analysis in AMP_B Output Power
Hi, I have an AMP_B block that I'm driving into saturation, and I'm noticing around a 4 dB difference in compressed stage output power depending on if I use the Time Domain Simulator (measured with PWR_MTR, verified with PWR_SPEC), or the RF Budget Analysis (measured with SPWR_node). A side-by-side comparison is shown below, where I am sweeping the input power. The left plot shows the input and output power of the compressed stage, the right plot shows the entire chain cascaded signal power.
Can microwave office automaticly add component id's
Hello, we have been manually drawing component id's on the silkscreen layer with the text tool (like, C1, C2, L1, L2, C3, C4, R1, C5. . .) Is there a way to make it use the component ID and automatically use the layout cell so that we can draw it all at once and forget about it? ! -- -Zeke /~~~<|-|-++-|-|>=~~~\ \~~~<|-|-++-|-|>=~~~/
How are layout cells for top and bottom layers handled in Microwave Office?
Hello, all of our layout cells are designed using the copper layer "Cu_1", which is the top layer of copper on the circuit board. If I want to reuse a layout cell on the bottom ("Cu_4"), do I have to duplicate the layout cell and change the model layer to "Cu_4"?
Can you simulate an EM layout extraction with lumped elements in the middle of the layout with Microwave Office?
Hello, We have a layout with layout cells for inductors and capacitors to impedance match a Qorvo LNA (they provde an S2P). Each capacitor/inductor S2P file from muRata straddles each layout cell so we can see how EM coupling affects the match. We would like to get the combined behavior of EM+S2P. The extraction shows ports at each component location where the iNets connect.
Hattiesburg Eye Clinic among first to offer new lens
Beverly Crawley had a lot of problems with her vision. She had lost a lot of her focusing ability with age and from astigmatism (a misshapen cornea). She also had cataracts, a condition in which the eyes’ natural lenses become cloudy, which causes viewed objects and colors to lose their clarity. To make matters worse, when she developed an ulcer in her right eye, the steroids used to treat it made the cataract worse and her vision unpredictable.
