A native of New Haven, CT, David Chorney is an accomplished artist and photographer who is dedicated to the advancement of his community. He has enjoyed creating art since childhood, and his current work features abstract forms, unusual landscapes, and striking compositions. David Chorney manages a retail outlet, BoToDo Designs, on the website Etsy.com. BoToDo Designs offers original oil and acrylic paintings; pencil, pastel, and charcoal drawings; fine art photography; Giclée prints; artwork on clothing and tile; and art cards. He also maintains a Facebook page, BoToDo Art and Photography, where he displays his work and interacts with his more than 680 fans.
Mr. Chorney is also involved with a variety of charitable causes in New Haven, CT. Working with the Jewish Coalition for Literacy, he serves as a reading partner for children in elementary school every Monday. He also helps the Westville Village Renaissance Alliance, which supports public and private partnerships to encourage economic development and community improvement projects in New Haven. In addition, he contributes to the New Haven Downtown Evening Soup Kitchen, which has provided free food programs for almost 25 years.
In his professional life, Mr. Chorney is the founder and president of Financial Concepts Unlimited, where he offers his clients financial planning and analysis services for retirement, long-term care, disability, life insurance, and business.
