Leveraging Bioinformatics Approaches for Drug Repositioning in Space Radiation Protection
Thomas E. Diaz, Joseph A. Kerrigan Jr, Dawn E. Bowles, Yared H. Kidane Abstract The health effects of space radiation, primarily Galactic Cosmic Rays (GCRs), on humans remain largely unknown, with potential cardiovascular consequences posing a significant threat to astronauts on long-duration spaceflight missions. Currently, there are no established pharmacological countermeasures for GCR exposure. Drug repositioning offers a promising strategy to accelerate pharmaceutical research in space medicine.

Metabolomic profiling during ex situ normothermic perfusion before heart transplantation defines patterns of substrate utilization and correlates with markers of allograft injury - The Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation
Background Cardiac metabolism is altered in heart failure and ischemia-reperfusion injury states. We hypothesized that metabolomic profiling during ex situ normothermic perfusion before heart transplantation (HT) would lend insight into myocardial substrate utilization and report on subclinical and clinical allograft dysfunction risk.
Osteopontin and protein kinase C regulate PDLIM2 activation and STAT1 ubiquitination in LPS-treated murine macrophages.
Osteopontin and protein kinase C regulate PDLIM2 activation and STAT1 ubiquitination in LPS-treated murine macrophages. VOLUME 285 (2010) PAGES 37787–37796 This article has been retracted by the publisher. The same data were reused to represent different experimental conditions. Specifically, lanes 2–4 and 6–8 of the actin immunoblot in Fig. 3A were duplicated. Additionally, the nuclear P-STAT1 immunoblot from Fig. 3A was reused as P-STAT1 in Fig. 3B.
