Dawn Maslar, M.S., is a science writer and love biologist. She writes for Muses and Visionaries Magazine in South Florida.
Professor Maslar is an adjunct biology professor at NOVA Southeastern University, and Kaplan University. She has taught full-time, as well as, part-time at Broward College and at Keiser University under her previous name of Ranish. Ranish is also a reviewer of several biology textbooks.
Maslar is the author of From Heartbreak to Heart’s Desire: Developing a Healthy GPS (Guy-Picking System) published by Central Recovery Press.

In June 2011 she introduced this the topic in her presentation entitled “Men Chase, Women Choose: Biology of Relationships,” at Kaplan University. It was the mostly highly attended webinar in the workshop history, and she was asked to do a “back-by-popular-demand” performance. This year she did “The Science of Love at First Sight,” “The Science of Attraction,” “The Stages of Love” and “More about the Stages of Love.” She was also invited to speak at NOVA Southeastern University.
Maslar is the founder of The Science of Love Foundation a non-profit corporation that provides support and funding to individuals and researchers involved in the scientific study of love.
As a highly sought-after speaker and expert, she has been featured on NPR, FOX 31, Daytime TV, Living in the Heart of Virginia and TEDxed. She also has been asked to comment on online media such as sheknows.com, cupidspulse.com, and yourtango.com. She also has a popular blog and YouTube channel on the science of love.
