What was your first job as a journalist?
I had a column called Sex in South Florida in a biker magazine called Wheels on The Road. I wrote about being attracted to the wrong men.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Hey! I think this shows my age. I actually took a typing class on a typewriter in high school. (If you ask what year I won't respond).
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
I log on to my University's library for most of my research. Then the internet provides me with juicy tidbits to make a point interesting.
What's your favorite social network?
Facebook - want to be my friend?
Who do you wish followed you?
Anyone interested in finding and maintaining love. Okay, I guess that would be just about everybody.
Why did you become a journalist?
I would call myself a writer/researcher rather than a journalist. Much of my research involves sifting through dusty peer-reviewed journals
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
No, I was to busy hanging out in the parking lot.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
The science of love.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Do what you love.
When's the best time to pitch you?
Weekdays.
