Environmental filters drive functional similarity in disjunct ferruginous outcrops of Eastern Amazonia
Highlights ● Soil, floristic and functional compositions of different vegetation formations in ferruginous outcrops from the Araguaia were compared with those from the Carajás region. ● Despite different climatic and geological contexts, the vegetation formations in both regions exhibit similar gradients of environmental severity. ● Considerable species overlap between regions highlights the role of historical connections and ecological corridors between regions.
