A 9-year-old neutered male domestic shorthair cat presented to the referring veterinarian with stranguria, dysuria, and haematuria. On examination, the cat had a large, firm bladder and was unable to pass urine via manual expression. Prior to the acute onset of these symptoms, the owners only noted occasional urination outside the litter tray. The referring veterinarian attempted to pass a urinary catheter, but this was unsuccessful. Based on radiographs (Fig.
Creative destruction through innovation bursts
CEP discussion paper Creative destruction through innovation bursts In theories of creative destruction, product innovation is a key driver of aggregate growth. In this paper, we confront the predictions of these theories about product dynamics with empirical patterns in product-level data on the near-universe of French manufacturing firms. We find that the process of product innovation frequently exhibits bursts-episodes in which firms rapidly add multiple products to their portfolio.

Emergency department crowding in the Netherlands; evaluation of a real-time ambulance diversion dashboard - International Journal of Emergency Medicine
Abstract Emergency department (ED) crowding is a growing concern worldwide and associated with negative effects. In 2013, 68% of Dutch ED-managers experienced crowding on several days of the week. This resulted into the introduction in phases of an ambulance diversion dashboard, in order to influence ED input. Increasing numbers of Dutch EDs have implemented this dashboard, visualizing regional ambulance diversions by means of a traffic light.

Reconstructions of Jupiter’s magnetic field using physics-informed neural networks
The Juno mission, launched in 2011 (Bolton, 2010), has revolutionized our understanding of Jupiter’s interior through the collection of both gravity and magnetic measurements in orbit since 2016. These new data have not only allowed new constraints on the density structure and zonal flow in the outermost parts of the planet (Kaspi et al. 2018; Militzer et al. 2022), but have permitted new reconstructions of the magnetic field to unprecedented resolution (e.g. Connerney et al. 2017, 2022).
