Total Ordering of Resources: A Quantum-Classical Separation
A central goal in quantum information science is understanding which physical states can be converted into others. The ideal scenario would be a totally ordered system, where every state can be ranked by a single value, and a higher-ranked state can always be converted into a lower-ranked one.
[2609.21558] Quantum states with the same entanglement and local unitary equivalence
Local operations assisted by classical communication (LOCC) play a fundamental role in the resource-theoretic formulation of entanglement theory inducing an operationally meaningful ordering in the set of entangled states. The particular class within LOCC of local unitary (LU) transformations is obviously closed under inversion.

Anaerobic sequencing batch reactor enhances short-chain fatty acids productivity while facilitating downstream processing
Abstract Anaerobic fermentation (AF) emerged as a promising technology to produce short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs). However, downstream processing of SCFAs is often challenging and costly due to the complexity of AF effluents that present high solids content. Sequencing batch reactors (SBRs) promote effluent separation in two phases (solids and supernatant), which can be an advantage to facilitate SCFAs downstream processing.

Monitoring of asteroids in cometary orbits and activated asteroids through archival images and new observations
Abstract Context. Transitional objects are minor bodies that share some characteristics with asteroids and others with comets. These objects include asteroids in cometary orbits (ACOs), which behave dynamically like comets, but lack observed activity, while activated asteroids (AAs) follow typical asteroidal orbits, but have shown dust ejections. Aims.

LRRK2 kinase activity regulates Parkinson’s disease-relevant lipids at the lysosome - Molecular Neurodegeneration
We used publicly available data from PPMI to explore the relationship between PD risk and protective variants in LRRK2 and urine BMP levels. For the genetic data, we used WGS data on PPMI subjects available through the Accelerating Medicines Partnership– Parkinson’s Disease (AMP-PD) data portal. Quality control and processing of these data has been previously described [36].

Engineering the T6SS of Pseudomonas for targeted delivery of antibacterial and antifungal effectors - Journal of Biological Engineering
Abstract Bacteria employ diverse molecular systems, such as the type VI secretion system (T6SS) to outcompete other microorganisms and adapt to ecological niches. The T6SS is a versatile nanomachine capable of delivering toxic effectors into neighboring cells, providing advantages in bacterial interactions. In recent years, T6SSs have been proposed as promising tools for engineering selective antimicrobial platforms.

Design of a complete simulator for underwater acoustic localization systems based on spread-spectrum signals
Date: 2022-10 Abstract Deploying prototype positioning systems in underwater environments is expensive and an especially challenging task, so a first common approach is to carry out simulated studies to evaluate the requirements and restrictions imposed by the environment. In this regard, it is helpful to have simulation models that allow the generation of a wide range of tests as a previous step to any experimental prototype implementation.

A monitoring campaign (2013-2020) of ESA's Mars Express to study interplanetary plasma scintillation
Abstract: The radio signal transmitted by the Mars Express (MEX) spacecraft was observed regularly between the years 2013-2020 at X-band (8.42 GHz) using the European Very Long Baseline Interferometry (EVN) network and University of Tasmania's telescopes. We present a method to describe the solar wind parameters by quantifying the effects of plasma on our radio signal. In doing so, we identify all the uncompensated effects on the radio signal and see which coronal processes drive them.
