The song is melancholic yet enchanting. But this record plants her feet firmly in the alt-country camp with sparks of thoughtful ‘70s folk rather than lingering in the purgatory of a folk-pop singer.

Everything is there except his grocery list. I, for one, am sorry he left it out.

It’s always the ride and not necessarily the destination that makes a trip through a Nora Kelly Band album worthwhile. The songs can be zany, intriguing and melancholic all at once, cavorting to their own primal rhythms with a playful style that is utterly delightful.
