Pentacam multimodal topography-based radiomics for early keratoconus screening and staging
Abstract Early keratoconus (KC) is characterized by insidious progression, which significantly hinders clinical screening. This study introduces a radiomics analysis framework based on Pentacam multimodal topographic maps and evaluates its efficacy in identifying early KC and assessing disease progression without incurring additional examination costs. This retrospective study included 415 eyes (177 normal, 84 early KC, and 154 KC).

Low-density plasma as a key catalyst for electron acceleration in the Van Allen radiation belts - Communications Physics
Abstract The near-Earth space environment is populated by the most energetic electrons with velocities very close to the speed of light, reaching ultra-relativistic energies. These electrons present a serious hazard to the Earth-orbiting spacecraft and are referred to as the Van Allen radiation belts. The question of how these particles are accelerated to such energies is still unanswered.
Vacation and back-to-school effect on influenza transmission among school-age children in Guangzhou, China: an ecological study from 2010 to 2023
Methods Guangzhou, situated in southern China, serves as the capital city of Guangdong Province. The city is divided into 11 districts spanning a total area of 7434.4 km2. By the end of 2023, the permanent resident population reached 18.82 million and registered population reached 10.56 million, including 2.43 million (23.01%) individuals under the age of 18. Influenza is classified as a statutory infectious disease in China, mandating clinicians to report diagnosed cases online.
Resonance broadening effects of weak turbulence on Earth's radiation belt electrons
The quasilinear diffusion theory is generalized to include the resonance broadening effect of weak turbulence on relativistic electrons in Earth's radiation belts. In contrast with quasilinear resonant diffusion, in which cases the resonant condition should be rigorously satisfied, the second-order theory demonstrates that the wave-driven scattering of relativistic electrons could be broadened into an area of velocity space adjacent to the resonant region.

Facile Preparation of Cellulose Derived Carbon/BN Composite Aerogel for Superior Electromagnetic Wave Absorption
Facile Preparation of Cellulose Derived Carbon/BN Composite Aerogel for Superior Electromagnetic Wave Absorption Carbon-based aerogels have been widely accepted to be a type of promising electromagnetic microwave (EMW) absorber due to its merits of low density, high specific surface area, and three-dimensional porous structure, but their contradiction between strong dielectric loss capacity and poor impedance matching often result in weak EMW absorption capacity.

FeCo Alloy Nanoparticles Decorated Cellulose Based Carbon Aerogel as Low-Cost and Efficient Electromagnetic Microwave Absorber
FeCo Alloy Nanoparticles Decorated Cellulose Based Carbon Aerogel as Low-Cost and Efficient Electromagnetic Microwave Absorber Recently, low-cost biomass based carbon aerogels turn to be promising efficient electromagnetic wave (EMW) absorption materials, but the bad impedance matching and single loss mechanism of them often result in poor EMW absorption property.
Gyroresonant wave-particle interactions with chorus waves during extreme depletions of plasma density in the Van Allen radiation belts
Abstract The Van Allen Probes mission provides unique measurements of the most energetic radiation belt electrons at ultrarelativistic energies. Simultaneous observations of plasma waves allow for the routine inference of total plasma number density, a parameter that is very difficult to measure directly.
Resilient and Lightweight Bacterial Cellulose Derived C/rGO Aerogel Based Electromagnetic Wave Absorber Integrated with Multiple Functions
Resilient and Lightweight Bacterial Cellulose Derived C/rGO Aerogel Based Electromagnetic Wave Absorber Integrated with Multiple Functions Hu Liu, Tiantian Bai, Yan Guo, Dedong Wang, Gang Song, Yaming Wang, Zhanhu Guo, Chuntai Liu and Changyu Shen Abstract Considering the complex actual environments and fields, the effective integration of multiple functions into one material is in great and urgent need, but still faces the enormous challenges.
Excitation of O+ band EMIC waves through H+ ring velocity distributions: Van Allen Probe observations
A typical case of EMIC emissions with both He+ band and O+ band waves was observed by Van Allen Probe A on July 14, 2014. These emissions occurred in the morning sector on the equator inside the plasmasphere, in which region O+ band EMIC waves prefer to appear.
In situ observations of magnetosonic waves modulated by background plasma density
We report in situ observations by the Van Allen Probe mission that magnetosonic (MS) waves are clearly relevant to appear relevant to the background plasma number density. As the satellite moved across dense and tenuous plasma alternatively, MS waves occurred only in lower density region. As the observed protons with ‘ring’ distributions provide free energy, local linear growth rates are calculated and show that magnetosonic waves can be locally excited in tenuous plasma.
The fragmentation of SF6 under O− and Al− negative ion impact
The fragmentation of SF under 15–30 keV O? and 20–30 keV Al? impact has been studied using a crossed beam technique. The recoil ions and ion pairs are identified in coincidence with scattered projectiles with different charge states by the usage of time-of-flight (TOF) mass spectroscopy. The yield ratios of fragment ions to and the yield ratios of ion pairs to (S+, F+) in collision with O? and Al? are obtained and compared with those of H? and C?.
