DRUKPA KUNLEY - SACRED TALES OF A MAD MONK By NEEDRUP ZANGPO
Drukpa Kunley (1455–1529), one of the most well-known saints of Bhutan, redefined the course of spiritual and religious pursuits through his unconventional paths to enlightenment. Believed by many to be a ‘divine madman’, he called himself an ‘aimless wandering yogi’, but there was an educative method to his madness and a transcendent wisdom to his aura. He was fiercely non-conformist, critiquing religious hypocrisy and describing it as a canker eating away at Buddha dharma.

From the memoir: Star para-athlete Deepa Malik recounts the discrimination she faced at the airport
We were all fighting our own battles at the FESPIC Games [Far East and South Pacific Games for the Disabled]. I struggled with mobility. I had no one to wheel me around and my wheelchair was too heavy for me to manoeuvre it on my own. Hitesh had been a great help till we arrived in Kuala Lumpur. But his coach did not deem it appropriate for him to be my wheelchair pusher, arguing that pushing my chair would fatigue the muscles he needed for his own field event.

The potential of C. cellulans KHP3 to tolerate different concentrations of heavy metals was investigated by growing the novel strain on nutrient agar medium supplemented with increasing concentrations (in ppm) of heavy metals i.e., Chromium (50–1500) Copper (50–200), and Zinc (50–200).
Eight years after I became the first woman para-athlete to bring India a medal, I have goosebumps watching Sheetal Devi shine
Written by Deepa Malik and Soni Sangwan Within the span of three Paralympic Games — in eight years — Indian women para-athletes have taken the tally of medals from one to 11 female medals (and still going strong!). In the 2012 London Paralympics, the Indian contingent did not have even a single woman para-athlete. In 2016 in Rio, I (Malik) became India’s first woman to win a medal when I won silver in the shot put event. My joy, paradoxically, was marred by a question: Why had it taken so long?

Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games: The winning formula
Krishna Nagar had just won India’s fifth gold medal at the Paralympics in Tokyo, taking the total tally to 19. The record was impressive by itself—54 athletes winning 19 medals, including 5 golds.
