The pin-killed method is efficient in evaluating hygienic behavior

Abstract Hygienic behavior is commonly evaluated in bee colonies, considering the time that workers take to detect and remove dead pupa. The objective was to compare two techniques for assessing hygienic behavior: the Freeze-killed method, which involves placing the pupae in the freezer, and the Pin-killed method, which uses an entomological pin to kill the pupae.
