Close call with gator near Freeport golf course Original

A Freeport couple checking on an alligator close to their home says they nearly got chomped when the gator began chasing them. Carol Jansky says she and her husband were on their four-wheeler about a week ago to see the alligator, which they say has lived for years in a pond next to the Freeport Golf Course. As they got to the edge of the pond, Jansky says the alligator came out of the water and began quickly walking toward them.

Muscle car leaves mess in Spring neighborhood Original

SPRING, Texas — Two men are under arrest after deputies say they drove into a Spring neighborhood and crashed a car into a fire hydrant. Harris County Precinct Four deputy constables say the men drove a Dodge Challenger onto a residential street near Lynngate and crashed into the fire hydrant in the front yard of a home. The two men then ran from the crashed muscle car, as the hydrant gushed water onto the front yard, say deputies.
